| For me, sprinkler contracting is a family business. I got into it
through my father, who’s been a sprinkler fitter with Metropolitan
Fire Protection for many years. Right after Paul took over the
company about 15 years ago, I was hired as an assistant. While
I was learning the business, I took design, and drafting courses
in night school and started designing some jobs. I moved into
project estimating and eventually into sales.
The thing that really gets me fired up is when I sell a job - big or
small - it doesn’t matter. I know that we’re going to deliver excellent
service from start to finish and provide the project management and
support necessary to keep things on track. I’m also proud of the way
we do business. We don’t nickel and dime customers or surprise
them with unexpected charges. We bid the job right the first time and
then get it done on schedule or before. That’s an ccomplishment in
our business and something I really appreciate about Metropolitan --
probably because I’m the father of four kids under the age of six, and
work is the only place I know things are going to go accoding to plan. |
